Prophets and friends,
I hope everyone had a relaxing (and fireworks-induced injury-free) 4th of July.
This month, we have a couple events on our calendar.
TODAY (Wednesday, July 16, 2014), in coordination with Bethel 249, we are holding a fundraiser at Chi Chi’s Pizza in Canyon Country (our usual post-meeting hangout) to raise funds to purchase an awning. It’s an all day event (11:00 am – 10:00 am). You just have to present a specific flyer to your waiter or waitress when you order food, and 15% of your total meal comes back to Cinema Grotto. It’s really a win-win situation. If you can, please join us in raising some funds for the awning. I have scheduled a formal group dinner at 6:30 pm. But, you can really go whenever you want. If you did not receive a flyer at our June meeting, or via email, please contact me.
The other event occurs on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Old West Masonic Lodge. Everybody’s favorite brother and prophet, David Taylor, is receiving a Hiram Award. If anyone is unfamiliar with this award, it is the single highest honor a California Mason may receive. It is given to the brother that best exemplifies service to the fraternity. The dinner is at 7:00 pm, with the award presentation after. It’s an open event, so women and children can attend. Dave is awesome, and this award is well-deserved. If you plan on attending, please email Worshipful Roger Puckett to RSVP – rogpuckett@aol.com.
Lastly, I would like to welcome prophets Joshua Runyan and Michael Schneider into the fold. I hope you thoroughly enjoyed the “near-perfect” initiation at our June meeting. We run an interesting ship here in Cinema Grotto.
I hope to see y’all at our next meeting on July 23rd.
Yours in fellowship,
Joey Lamberti – Monarch of Cinema Grotto
