As most you know, Elizabeth and I travel throughout the summertime. We recently stopped off in Abilene, KS, and visited the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum.
Here is my first history lesson of the summer:
Did you know that Dwight D. Eisenhower took the oath of office with the George Washington Bible, which was first used on April 30, 1789 by the Grand Master in New York to administer the oath of office to George Washington, the first President of the United States? The same Bible was also used by Warren G. Harding, Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush to take their oaths of office.
We hope you enjoy the pictures – more to come this summer!
Since I won’t be at the upcoming meetings (the next meeting is on June 26th), Prophet Anthony Sandino will be taking over as Secretary. Please treat him with the same amount of respect you provide me – which is really not much!
Fraternally yours,
Jim Jarnagin, PM
