Freemason or otherwise, Charity should be the driving force in the actions of every able man. Upon becoming a Master Mason, we are taught about the three Grand Principles of our craft, especially the importance of Charity. Any efforts to aid others in need, right down to being a smiling face in an otherwise dark day, should be done as much as possible.
The Grotto looks upon Charity as its driving force and cornerstone – why we joined and why we meet in the first place. Our activity with the United Cerebral Palsy organization is one of our most humbling humanitarian efforts. Multiple times throughout a calendar year, we plan and arrange BBQ’s at the UCP homes, and holiday events during Christmastime. Each and every get-together with the residents of the homes is eventful, and worth our time and more.
“The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.”- Brother Mark Twain
These pictures were taken on February 3, 2013 – Monarch Dan Hood and his wife, Penny, were joined by many Cinema Grotto prophets and their families at a UCP home. A great time was had by everyone, and most importantly, our presence was appreciated by the residents.
